veerji..i am looking to buy a land cruiser from DRI auction…paaji could you please help me regarding maintenance..as i am average IT joe..so could sourcing parts would be a problem and cost wise would it be a difficult one to maintain
It would be LC200 (petrol or Diesel) will confirm –> as the car is not used since 5 yrs..should i go for it
personal contact at DRI has told me many parts get stolen as vehicle is not sold for long time
i have option to go for new fortuner but i might get a good low price LC200 or prado below the price of new fortuner(dilemma again )
wanted to post at Team-bhp but membership is still not confirmed..paaji m in delimma to buy it or not
I know have asked so many questions would be highly obliged if you answer dem.

What city are you from. If the major cities like delhi or mumbai parts and stuff shouldnt be an issue.

As you say that the vehicle’s 5+ years old I doubt that it would be a LC 200. Most likely it would be a 100 series. Check out this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Land_Cruiser

Yes thats the sad part of picking up vehicles from DRI auction. Just check that most of the expensive and essential parts are there. Like Fuel pump, hoses, starter motor, alternator etc etc are all there.

Both come in 4.2 liter diesel and option of a 4.5 or a 4.7 liter petrol options. Petrols in my opinion should be a strict no no as the Fuel Economy is really really bad. The 4.7 Liter is a V8 petrol.

Just check out the vehicle. Prices generally for a 100 series are between 17-25+ Lacs depending on the model, condition, etc etc. Petrols are way cheaper than diesels.
